The Slow Falling Enchantment
NOTE: This can also be implemented for other gear, but an enchantment that is unique to the Elytra would be very nice as there is no such thing and it is also very related already.
The Slow Falling enchantment will be an enchanted that is unique to the Elytra. It essentially is like flying with the Slow Falling effect. It also works like the potion, but with the Decay parameter will be slightly different.
As there is no time how long it lasts, there can't be a fade out. However what is possible is that if you fly faster, the strength can increase. (Decrease is also possible, but then the landing can be quite difficult.) The curve will look like this:
As you can see, if you're hovering completely still, the effect won't be there. The flying is only for horizontal speed, not for vertical. That way you can still make those deadly dives.
