When a standing tamed wolf/dog is "idle", it'll check if there are any rabbits within a certain line of sight radius. If not, they will do their usual random wandering behavior. If so, they will chase the closest rabbit for up to __ blocks away from the player. If they're unsuccessful in killing it before they reach that limit they will abandon the chase and return to their owner.
Like normal, the rabbit's drops will be collectible by the player (although perhaps if the dog is not at full health, there could be a chance for the dog to consume the meat and heal itself). This is a behavior that reflects real life and also will be beneficial for players, as it is difficult sometimes to hit rabbits.
To encourage your dog to hunt, a player will stay still near a rabbit and then follow behind the dog once they've given chase. To cancel a hunt, the player can move in the opposite direction, causing the '_ blocks away' limit to be reached sooner so the dog will return to the player's side.
