A Gamerule for Passive Mob Griefing

I want the Gamerule MobGreifing to be split into two other Gamerules called HostileMobGriefing and PassiveMobGriefing. The reason why I want this is because I want to keep Creepers and Ghasts from blowing my stuff up while still being able to breed Villagers or have functioning carrot/wheat farms with out constantly turning MobGriefing on and off.

    What about the neutral mobs like endermen that can pick up blocks?

    Technically, endermen can have they’re block gridding turned off in a datapack. Check out in Vanilla Tweaks for that.

    Also check out Dr. AV's bedrock tweaks if you are playing on bedrock.

    He has addons to stop endermen, ghasts, and creepers from griefing.

    Yes please can we have this! The datapack I'm using to disable creeper explosions (I'm playing with my 5 yo son, he sets off creeper explosions everywhere so I have to disable them) also disable any damage they do to player. I rather have creepers do damage, but not break blocks.

    When did this change anyway? Passive mobs weren't affected by this game rule previously especially not villagers.

    I just want to quickly point out that mods and data packs don't work on console or mobile. That's the main reason why ideas like this should be properly implemented instead of simply "left up to the community."
    With that said, another good example/reason for this suggestion would be that allays are essentially functionless with mob griefing turned off.
