Hi there, I am not adult...I am a kid...I don't understand why this great function is not working. I play a lot the new Minecraft Star Wars DLC. I have a great modified world which I want to play with my friends from school. Most of them are using Minecraft and that DLC. But currently I have to invite them to my Home-Network that we can play together or the same friend has to create the host all the time....my dad will write something also here...he has setup some server for us but the Star Wars DLC is not working there...kind regards from Switzerland

Hi there, my son told me to post some infos here about the current situation / problem. I am new to minecraft, my son and his friends going crazy at school about this. I am a system engineer and so I have create a docker / itzg/minecraft-bedrock-server. It was easy and it works perfectly. After I have copied the behavior_packs, resource_packs and the world of my son which he have saved in the mcworld - I was not able to run the map / start the server.

The error (Source) links to that tipic of that community Post here which means "that error usually occurs when attempting to use encrypted marketplace packs on a BDS server."

Please make it possible to host purchased Material on an own BDS Server. May Kids and Dads would be happy :D

Any update on this? I should easily be able to log in to my dedicated server and install marketplace purchases that I paid for. I haven't let my sons make any purchases from marketplace since I found out we couldn't put them on our server.

I know they're doing this to keep people from pirating Marketplace items. I don't blame them for encrypting the files. I would even be happy with a sign-in mechanism that tied the BDS server to my Microsoft account. The only reason I want to have a dedicated server is because Realms Plus is horrible. It has a confusing UI and only one world slot which makes it painful to switch between worlds. My kids want to spend their allowance on the Marketplace but I won't allow it until either Realms Plus or BDS is fixed.

Trying to setup a BDS for the family, and being unable to use the Natural texture pack I've purchased is a BIG let down for us, or atleast for me.

Also, I guess I could substitute it with some similar free and downloadable texture pack, but I have no clue on how that would work since we play on a different devices (iPhone/iPad, Xbox, Windows).

I have a disappointed 9 year old here who just wants to play the Mob Hero's world he bought on his iPhone with his brother and I (dad).  We host a BDS at home for multiplayer across iphones/xbox/pc for the family.  This would be a great addition and probably lead to a few more purchases.

This needs to happen! I need to be able to use purchased resource packs on my own dedicated server or 3rd party server! I’m ok with realms except for the fact that I can’t increase view distance. It’s like playing in a little bubble. So I do a different server, but now I can’t use my resource pack. Please let us verify somehow that we’ve bought it so we can use it!

I can't believe this is an issue!  Why can't I use my purchased content on my own server?!!

Exactly not buying anything more for my 4 kids from the store. Until I can host the dam worlds. Not hard to add a hostname in the server config or email to verify you own said packs. Then the server gives the clients the packs only accessible on said server. I write mods for this game wouldn't be hard to do and just verify the dedicated server owner's email sheeesh!

This is absurd.  Every time I go to set up something I used to do for years as a Minecraft power user my kids end up disappointed because Bedrock can't do it.

Now that the Bedrock dedicated server is out of beta this feature needs to happen.

Let me authenticate my server with my account so our family can play our purchased content on a dedicated server.  Realms is great for most people, but we want the power and flexibility of running our own server within our home.

I have a question; can you apply one marketplace texture to marketplace world? even if that world has it's own texture pack?

For example, Noxcrew made a sequel to their series "city living", which added a lot of new features from furniture to interactive features and so much more. The only problem that the sequel had compared to the first one was the city. The first City living had a beautiful city rather than City Living 2 where the city there looked rushed and not put any thought into it. Is it possible to take the city from the first game and put it into the second game?

I know that I am dregging up an old post but please make this happen! I would love to host a server for my 2 brothers, my nieces and nephews who all want to play minecraft and use texture packs that I have purchased from the market place. I host a BDS for my family that way we can all share a world and come and go to play as we have time. I recently pitched the idea to my brother and my in-laws about adding the Star Wars texture pack to the server as it was such a cool addon and we are all Star Wars fans, only to find that no one else who connects can see the textures. Please add this feature!

You could configure desired packs as "GLOBAL RESOURCES" in settings, those pack will override everything and you can play with them in a dedicated server, just tested few minutes ago.

In the main screen: [Settings -> Global resources] you can choose any pack from "My packs" and activate, once the pack is active it will be on the bottom of the "Active section". Now you can enter to any dedicated server using the pack.

I'm not playing in English language so the menu names could not be exact.

Please enable this! Not necessarily as a owner-purchased, anyone use, but rather a simple record so BDS can tell Minecraft to fetch the pack from the store, such as` { id: uuid, purchased: true, required: false }` in the resource_packs.json file, and exposing the pack’s id in the global resources section of settings in minecraft itself.

Anyone who owns it, boom, it just uses like if it was an installed pack, and those who don’t, pop open the store page if required, or ask to open the store if not.

At this point, the encrypted resource packs are safe from piracy (as much as they are i guess), and BDS finally can make use, and promote store purchase packs.

The feature is badly needed. If we purchased the content, there should be a way for us to run it on our dedicated servers.

I've purchased some texture packs from the marketplace to then realize I cannot use them in my own BDS. After importing the texture files to my BDS I realized they were all encrypted (which makes sense now that I think about it for possible piracy reasons).

However, my BDS server is set to only allow players that have signed in with Microsoft, based on the following server.properties file entry:

    online-mode=true
    # If true then all connected players must be authenticated to Xbox Live.
    # Clients connecting to remote (non-LAN) servers will always require Xbox Live authentication regardless of this setting.
    # If the server accepts connections from the Internet, then it's highly recommended to enable online-mode.
    # Allowed values: "true" or "false"

Therefore, I suggest that this feature be allowed at a minimum only for Xbox Live authenticated users.
Please make this happen!! Our shared Minecraft experience is downgraded by this limitation.

Please add the ability to use the modes and add-ons purchased from the market place, in the Bedrock Dedicated Server. Add the possibility of server authentication by the owner, to validate the contents of the market place.
If the problem is sharing content with other people, you can already do the same thing by becoming a host for friends.
I installed a Bedrock Dedicated Server to be able to have my world always active and be able to play with my son, from different devices (xbox, PC, Nintendo Switch, Chromebook and Android), regardless of the time or where we are, being able to use the contents purchased from the marketplace would be the decisive turning point.
