Minecraft should add a high desert biome with dead bushes, grass and a new juniper bushes. The ground should be made of sand or red sand and there should be sandstone boulders scattered around. When I am exploring I find it really weird to find snow or taiga biomes right next to desert or mesa biomes. I always try to avoid building in these areas because it really bugs me. Adding a high desert could be like a buffer zone in-between the two so it won't be as weird. To make it fit in better with the snow biome maybe high deserts that generate next to snow biomes could also have snow in them.
