Problem: Even compared to the player's base movement speed, monsters are slow. When the player sprints, they have no chance of catching up. This is one of the main problems with mobs. (Another one notable being their weakness against shields.)
My suggested solution: Making them better at catching up by making their movement speed depend on their target's speed. Capped, of course, keeping a slight difference so outrunning wouldn't become impossible, just not as easy.
Before anyone says "it would make sprinting useless", I'll say that no, it would not. The ability to get from point A to point B faster can often come handy, it simply wouldn't completely break enemies this way.
