Pets should teleport away in a puff of smoke

When I mess with my friends by making their pets sit up, by using water or breaking the block below them, it's almost jarring how the pet just DISAPPEARS. It would me more fun if they went off in a puff of smoke, like an Enderman or the Roadrunner cartoon.
