What of we could craft a "kit" slab (as opposed to a full sized block) with a small amount of spaces, I was thinking five, using the same GUI as a hopper. It could function the same as a shulker box as in it can be broken and maintain it's inventory as well as being able to be placed in a chest and renaming in an anvil will stick. Also, dying them is a must! However, I don't think that "kits" and shulker boxes should be stored in each other, that would be a bad idea. Although it would be cool to colour them with a banner, maybe the top and bottom especially for the postage idea a little further down.
Why? You may ask? It's so that we can keep our structures together! Like a beacon and all the blocks it needs to function. Or a conduit and all the blocks it needs as well. Plus, any future functional structures that come out. It could also contain all the items you need for your personally created structures. This would be helpful on servers that have an economy especially so. You could sell everything you need for a shulker box together in one package. Or on servers that have a postal system, it could be the media with which to send packages. It could even come in sizes, a small has five inventory slots while a large has 15
To craft it on a 3x3 grid maybe put any kind of plank in the 4 corners and paper or wool in the 4 sides.
It should be flamable and wouldn't it be something if an enderman could grab it?
