With the new Nether Update and Soul Fire, its the perfect time for a new potion.
The flammability effect only makes a difference after being lit on fire. Once lit on fire, you will continue to burn until flammability effect finishes (in which original burn countdown begins), or your are in water.
Another cool effect, is the trail of fire left behind, wherever the player walks.
Effect level 2 would be similar, except it applies the soul fire effect (which doubles fire damage in current snapshots).
Why this is a good idea: It has so many uses!
- Combine this potion with a fire resistance potion, and you've got an awesome fire trail behind you, (without taking any of the damage) that would light up the area!
- Apply this to your flame arrows and you've got an effective way to apply soul fire to other players, or lengthen your normal flame effect! (Like all arrow effects, this would not last very long).
- A fire resistance and flammability potion could be applied to all sorts of enemies (map makers could send infinite burning zombies), pets (dogs that attack with flame), etc.
- Soul Blazes??? Apply the soul flammability effect to blazes and they turn blue, attacking more frequently?
- Punching while on fire would be an alternative to a flint and steel!
- A chance to ignite when using fire tools? Makes it a bit more risky to use that flame sword, bow, flint and steel, or putting out those campfires.
Splash potions could be found in bastions, or brewed using a new nether plant or even fire charges.
