What is this idea in two words? Temporary blocks.
This early- to mid-game tool would work similarly to Frost Walker, except that the player would have finer control, equivalent to just placing regular blocks. The bottle would have a fairly small capacity (say, 64 temporary blocks to keep it consistent) and would deplete by placing them. The bottle would then need to be refilled with experience orbs mending-style or possibly through just mining blocks normally. The temporary blocks would have a bright appearance, glowing in the dark similar to spider eyes without giving off any actual light, but would crack over time and disappear into a puff of particles after maybe 5 to 10 seconds. These blocks would be instant-mineable by the player and would have a bare minimum blast resistance.
The main reason I want this tool is because it would allow players to create temporary scaffolding that wouldn't leave behind ugly trails of building blocks. In my opinion, the Elytra does fill that role quite well, but it's a very late-game and powerful item outside of just crossing gaps. The Bottle of Solid Stuff could even maintain some utility into the late game because it doesn't require any setup or firework rockets to work, just occasional refills.
