Personally, I think the Basalt Deltas are my new favorite biome in the Nether. I love the gray fog, the white particles, and the overall generation. However, I think it needs more mob variety. Magma Cubes just aren’t enough. Now, the Basalt Beast would be a big tortoise-like beast with skin made up of basalt, and a shell made of blackstone. They also have a chance to spawn with a shell made up of gilded blackstone, which gives them a chance to drop gilded blackstone and gold nuggets. They can also swim in lava and eat Striders lurking in the vast lava lakes in the Nether. Piglins also go after nearby Basalt Beasts and hunt them down. When it attacks the player, it deals 5 hearts of damage. If you do enough damage to the Basalt Beast, it will hide in its shell, and perform a surprise attack, doing 7 hearts of damage, flinging you in the air. When it hides in its shell, it gains 90% resistance to attacks. It also has 50 health points. When killed, it drops 2-4 pieces of blackstone, 3-5 pieces of basalt, and 5-10 xp. I think that this mob should be added because it would properly explain how the Piglins got their hands on Gilded Blackstone, and it would add a nice new challenge to the Nether.
