Glowing Netherite Pickaxe

I had the thought that for all the work someone has to go through in order to obtain a Netherite pickaxe it really is not that worth it you only get a marginal increase of mining speed and a good amount of durability, which is nice but I think it should give you a little more. The thing I had in mind was what if you could take your Netherite pickaxe and a rare block of a material like iron or diamond, redstone any block that you would take nine of an ore and make it into a block. You take those two things then you can go to a smithing table and upgrade your pickaxe then your pickaxe would glow when you were near that ore. For example you upgrade your netherite pickaxe with a redstone block now the closer you are to redstone ore the more the pickaxe will glow. I feel this would add more reason to mine for a very long time to obtain this ability to locate ores easier.
