The Soulsand Valley is cool in concept, a seemingly colder region of the Nether, chilled by the souls trapped in its sands. But it could use something more to make it a more interesting biome to actually explore.
I propose the additon of blue ice clusters occasionally generating on the ceiling, like glowstone clusters, but only for this biome. It makes sense for it to exist here in this biome where basalt is found jutting from the ceiling. It would also fit the cool colored aesthetic of the biome, and make basalt renewable in the nether without needing to go to the overworld and find a frozen ocean.
Additionally, the biome is primarily host to an overwhelming number of Ghasts, with the only other resident being some skeletons. This soul themed biome is the perfect place to have Vexes spawn naturally. Ever wonder where the Evoker is summoning the Vexes from? Could be here.
