Obelisks (Underground Beacons)

An obelisk would be a great item to aid miners, since beacons with haste are much loved by the community however they do not work underground. These would be crafted with 1 nether star, 2 diamonds and 6 obsidian. When placed, similar to how a conduit uses prismarine, these would need to be surrounded by any of the sufficient beacon base blocks to work. However, unlike as beacon, they would only give haste and not give off a beam. There would be 4 levels: 

5-10 blocks - Haste I, 25 blocks range

11-15 blocks - Haste II, 25 blocks range

16-20 blocks - Haste III, 50 blocks range

21+ blocks - Haste IV, 50 blocks range

As you can see, this is higher than the maximum haste boost from a beacon, in return for not being able to have any other effects. This would benefit miners massively, as not only does it give you Haste IV if surrounded by 21+ blocks, it also works underground without the hassle of digging a tunnel for the beam.
