This isn't necessary anymore, now that blackstone can be farmed from piglin bartering

I think people are focused too much on how it isn't necessary and ignoring that this would make some really cool bridge building redstone contraptions that look a heck of a lot better than the redstone built basalt bridges people are using in the nether currently.

True it isn't needed now for getting Blackstone in general renewably in general, but I'd still love a generator for it.

I think they should just make it so putting four basalt in a crafting table gives you one Blackstone. Just like how putting four sand in a crafting table gives you sandstone.

How about for blackstone... just allow 1 piece of cobblestone + either 1 piece of ink sac or black dye... simple and easy... hardly any coding would be needed...

Blackstone should be a renewable resource. It definitely should be generated, not crafted, since it is like cobblestone. I don't think they should remove basalt generators though. But, when I saw it, I immediately thought, how do you generate it? I'm thinking Blue ice, lava, and maybe like soul sand and not soul soil, maybe.

Basalt has just two types for building.  Basalt and Polished Basalt.  Blackstone, on the other hand has sooooo many more applications and build variants.  It doesn't make much sense to me from a building standpoint that Blackstone is the finite resource here.  Seems backwards.  I don't really care how the issue is solved (make it craftable, or introduce a method of player based generation) it is critically important though, that it get solved.  In my opinion.  Please give us a better way to farm large quantities of blackstone.  Thanks!

Blackstone could be made when lava touches stone in the nether. Although that might be a bit inefficient and troublesome.

I would like to see them implement a way to have water in the Nether, and to be able to use the same set up as the regular cobblestone generator. Suppose that you you could have water in the Nether only if it was directly on top of blue ice (hypothetically cooling it enough to keep it in from evaporating). I think it would be neat if the same configurations worked similarly, but were dimension dependent, so in the overworld lava and water always make cobblestone, but in the Nether they always make blackstone, and only in the Nether.
