Chiseled Blackstone Powered by Gold (Satire... unless?)

This is a simple idea; Minecraft currently doesn't have batteries, and that's fine, but this could add something to the redstone community that its doesn't have already in compact form:

When you right click on a block of chiseled polished blackstone with a gold ingot in your had, it will use the gold ingot and "turn on" the blackstone. From this point, if that signal is powering anything, the signal strength will slowly decrease over time. This is playing off the fact that this block looks like an american wall power socket.

(Maybe when on, the block would change texture?)

    I think it's a cool idea and think it would be a novel addition, but I don't personally see the need. Hopper clocks and the like work quite well.
