tl;dr: We should add small 4-5 person patrols of Piglins riding Striders be able to spawn in the Nether on the lava oceans.
Since Zombified Piglins can already ride Striders, it would make sense to let Piglins ride them as well. It doesn't make sense for a Zombified version of a Piglin, which is supposed to be mostly mindless, to do something that regular Piglins can't. This gave me the idea to have Piglins send out small Strider-mounted patrols near Bastions (when they're added) close to lava lakes or to just have Piglin Patrols spawn as Illager Patrols do. This would add more life to the Nether, especially to the Piglins, and just makes sense given the way the Nether is. Hoglins are food to Piglins, and not viable transport methods, given the Nether's hazardous cave-like terrain generation. Striders, on the other hand, are docile and can walk across the massive lava oceans on the Nether's floor, basically giving the Piglins a highway to wherever they want to go.
Each patrol would have around 4-5 Piglins in it, similar to a Pillager Patrol. The Piglins would be armed with a mix of crossbows and swords, like regular Piglins, although they would be more likely to have crossbows since using those would be less risky than sword fighting above the lava. Some of them would spawn near Bastions, and wouldn't wander too far away, as if they're guarding the bastion. But independently spawned patrols wouldn't be tied to bastions and would act similarly to exploration parties.
