With the nether update making big strides and subverting our expectations of what the nether could or should be. I think we should turn ourselves to the end and here is why, the ends design is underwhelming, still even after we got the end cities the end feels unfinished and unrefined. The straight obsidian towers designs are bland as well as the bedrock surrounding the portals they both looks like a place holder block for where the portal and towers would have eventually been designed, and the skybox is an uninspiring black. I understand The end is meant to be a wasteland but it achieves this enough with vast distances it lacks the variety of things to discover and do that make both the overworld and nether so appealing. Perhaps a rehaul of the entirety of the end would give the end that same appeal.
But.... while a rehaul of the end could be nice I'm not expecting a rehaul of the end just more aesthetically pleasing design for the towers that surround the main end isle, and some decent portal designs for both the portal back to the overworld as well as the portals to the outer end isles. And perhaps a nicer skybox with a little purplish glow to break up the infinite black.
I also believe the iron cages surrounding the end crystal could use a new block perhaps a block that fits the overall theme of the end perhaps a fancy endstone or obsidian bars block?
