TEGUS! In life, they are the ULTIMATE pet reptile! So if we're going to get our first Minecraft Pet reptile, we need Tegus! Tegus alone would add tons of biodiversity with how many species of tegus are in the world. In the game, some are tamable, while others are not. Non tamable species include Yellow tegus and swamp tegus. Tamable tegus come in different sizes. Large tegus include black and white, red tegus, and caiman lizards. Medium sizes include blue and gold tegus. All tegus, except caiman lizards are bred, tamed, and healed the same. Raw pieces of meat to tame, eggs to breed, and meat, fruits, eggs, veggies, and insects for healing them. Crickets and roaches are new items that have a 1 in 5 chance of dropping from grass blocks and grass and are fed to tegus, chickens, and caiman lizards. Caiman lizards are tamed, bred, and also healed with snails. They can also be healed with other insects. Snails have a 1 in 8 chance of being collected from collecting water with buckets or breaking dirt blocks. They can also be cooked to make escargot. Now, back to tegus! Breeding blue and red tegus will get you a purple tegu. There is a 5% chance of getting an albino, and breeding a albino purple with a B&W will give you an albino purple ice tegu. In cold climates, you will need a heat lamp(made with an iron block and blaze rod) otherwise they die. Breeding tegus is like sea turtles where they lay eggs on the ground, and babies grow up feeding on insects.
