Wart trees, as far as I know, are non-renewable, unlike other trees, and VERY unlike real fungus, which spreads and reproduces very quickly. I suggest that when blocks are broken, these trees release spores , which become fungi, which eventually become trees. also, to prevent overpopulation, this would only release about 0-2 spores per tree. To prevent only having trees and having no fungi because they all became trees, these trees would over time decay with multiple stages, and after a while they would break down, releasing spores in the process. This would keep the forests changing and keep the trees renewable, but still uncontrollable, which is kinda in the spirit of the nether. It would also add variation to the forests so they aren't straight red or blue.
