Introduction The Ash Geyser biome lies deep in the Nether. In this biome, the walls and floor are made of black ash blocks. Also growing on the walls, floor, and ceiling of this biome are cinderweeds. And last, but not least are the ash geysers themselves.
Cinderweed Plants Cinderweeds are burnt variations of the fungus we already have in the Nether. Cinderweed stems possess a black bark and a darker inside layer. These stems can be found piercing through the ashy walls of this biome, like thorns from a bush. Cinderweed bushes also tumble across the floor of the Ash Geyser biome, similar to real life tumbleweeds.
Ash Geysers Sparsely placed throughout the biome are ash geysers. These geysers are tall and not very wide, made up of compressed ash blocks. Once in a while, the ash geysers will blow out large clumps of ash that will blind players if too close. From the geysers spit out minerals, such as gold, iron, coal, and of course ash.
Ash's Properties Ash (the item) can be crafted into ash blocks, then again into compressed ash. If you stand on ash blocks for too long, you'll start to sink in, but a simple jump will save you from suffocation. If you manage to not jump enough in time, you'll suffocate, but your items will rise to the surface. Ash blocks are flammable, but they will not burn up. Ash blocks are a decent fuel source for furnaces.
