Gloom Worm

The Gloom Worms are large terrifying mobs that spawn in cave systems of the Nether.  At first glance they appear to be large worm like creatures with sad looking faces on there large pale grey bodies and have two stubby little arms. But beware! This face is a facade and is really a mask formed from a flap like appendage on it’s scalp. Their real face is mixed between a drowned and a spider. They are ambush predators. They lure their prey by making cute but sad sobbing sounds to get their attention while their flaps form a cute frown face like pattern. However, get to close to them and they will reveal their true face and and try to eat their prey alive by attacking them with weakening swipes and bites. However, they are extremely slow and have a small Argo range, meaning you could run away from them and they would immediately loose interest and crawl back into the hole they came from. When defeated, they will drop a weakening gland which can be used in a brewing stand to create a potion of weakness.


Are based on the bridge worms but are less horrific and human like. And more adorable and insect like.

    cool idea but maybe the weakening gland should make a different potion, or maybe not a potion at all!

    The Gloom Worm secretes a slimy substance known as Gloom Goo, similarly to how a Snow Golem leaves a trail of Snow where ever it goes. Gloom Goo is a slimy substance that is basically a slimy version of black ice. In other words any entities that walk on it will move at uncontrollable speeds. The goo is also inflatable and as such means the Gloom Worm is immune to all forms of fire damage. The Gloom Worm when defeated has a chance  to drop Gloom Paste which when crafted similarly to crafting a Snow Block will give you a Gloom Goo Block which is a slime block that cause entities that walk on it to speed up.

    The Gloom Worms hate light and will destroy any light sources that are in the dark tunnels they call home. Additionally they are scared of Shroomlights and Soulfire.

    When the Gloom Worm is killed, it will spawn a Gloom Worm nub similar to how the Ender Dragon spawns a Ender Dragon Egg. However, this nub is more like a sea turtle egg then a trophy and will eventually grow into a new Gloom Worm. With this is mind, if you were to feed this little creature, perhaps you could claim it as a new war mount and as a infinite source of Gloom Goo.
