Parity means making features behave consistently across different Minecraft editions, most commonly between Minecraft: Java Edition and Minecraft: Bedrock Edition. In the Bedrock and Legacy Console versions of the game, crouching while flying with an elytra extends the character's arm, similar to how Superman extends his arm while flying.
Though a relatively small feature, it adds to the charming humor that Minecraft is known for in addition to replacing a rather clunky-looking animation that now displays while crouching with an elytra.
