Alternative spawning methods for different dimensions.

Why not make spawn points like beds for different dimensions? It could be an altar or something that permanently removes hearts while active until the player's spawn is changed to a bed. This can be the spawn point for the nether. For The End, a new type of beacon that requires rare materials from the end to make that has a chance to spawn the player at a random point 20 blocks away upon respawn. I feel like either option would be a great way to encourage players to stay, and be more creative with builds in minecraft's sandbox.
