transporting liquids in Minecraft can be pretty tricky, there is no easy way to carry large amounts of a fluid making building difficult. if we could craft a tank that is made with quartz glass. you smelt quartz in a furnace and you get quartz glass. quartz glass in a 3x3 grid provides you with a tank. one tank should fill about four buckets of fluid. they do not stack ( for balance sake) and they can be mined without silk touch.
now as for the liquid hoppers, you can directly place a liquid hopper on top of a liquid source block, it will start sucking in about half buckets worth each time. it will suck fluids surrounding the source block first.
by crafting 4 tanks together you get a large tank that can store up to 16 buckets of fluid.
