Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Lava fishing on Nether | Mineral fishes

After the amazing Lava boat idea at: https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/community/posts/360056749591-Nether-wood-boats-Lava-Boat  , I think the lava oceans in nether should also get some love too.

 

Maybe would be cool if you could fish on lava on the Nether, finding some unique kind of fish. These fishes could be made of minerals like a cobblestone, coal ore, lapis ore, adesite, diorite, granite, gravel and rarely even iron ore, gold ore.

 

PROS:

-These would give new renewable source of minerals to the player

- Not OP. Would be slower and more dangerous than normal fishing or mining

- Gives a natural source of minerals in nether without having to put ore veins.

- These fishes arent edible, so this wouldnt make the nether easier by giving another food source to the player

    You should be able to cook the fish to get they’re ore type.

    Use it to catch a lava fish. When you eat a lava fish it gives you fire resistance and the ability to swim in lava.

    If not a source of ores, then maybe a source of food. Maybe you'd need a Netherite Rod to fish in lava.

    i would love to fish in the nether! a way to make it more dangerous is have a chance to fish up a ghast or blaze thats "hiding under the lava"

    How do you catch them, maybe a new fishing rod crafted with 3 sticks, 1 string and a netherite scrap?

    Or just let us fish in lava anywhere, but instead of fish, we get unique items. Maybe make it so we can only fish in lava with an enchanted pole? As the OP says, it doesn't break the game because it's quite dangerous to fish in lava. Stand too close, or accidentally break a block with your pole, and whoosh!
