Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Cook food independently in the nether

There should be a way to smelt food using only blocks or items native to the nether. If you are going to be able to live independently in the nether without items from the over world, there should be a way to smelt food. Maybe there could be a netherrack furnace. You can now get a wood pickaxe independently from the nether because of the new nether wood, so you would be able to mine netherrack to make a furnace.

    Throw the items on the ground to smelt them? It's too hot for water to exist or sponges to stay dry so dropped items that come from the overworld should insta smelt when dropped in the nether

    1. There's blackstone, which is the Nether equivalent of cobble, you can make a furnace with that. 

    2. There's wood, like you said. Use it for furnace fuel. 

    It is 100% possible to cook food independently in the Nether. If you actually use your brain, that is.
