Black Arrow (Crossbow Exclusive)

This arrow would be crafted with 3 Iron Ingots in a vertical row. As a completely metal arrow, it would be too heavy for a regular bow. It's stack limit is 8.

The Black Arrow would have 3 special aspects to separate it from regular arrows:
  • Ignore Armor (I'm proposing 5 points) on mobs.
  • Breaks blocks it hits with a blast resistance (BR) of 10 or less. Blocks that it hits would take away from the range by a percentage until the BR is 0, at which point it travels 1 more block and lodges itself into whatever is in that space. Each level Piercing would increase the arrows ability to break blocks by 10, for a max total of 50 BR. As an example, an unenchanted crossbow would be able to break 2 sandstone blocks (4 BR each) that were back to back and still fly a couple of blocks. The same crossbow would only be able to break 1 bone block (BR 10) and then fall off onto the next block.
  • Recoverable from fallen mobs 99% of the time in addition to when it hits blocks.
If the name Black Arrow is too Tolkien, it could also be called the Iron Arrow.

    Crossbows desperately need a buff, and a new ammo type exclusive to the crossbow would be a great constructive way to balance ranged weapons.
