Currently tipped arrows require that you defeat the Ender Dragon to get Dragons Breath for Lingering Potions. By this point in the game, the benefits of having tipped arrows is useless next to the enchantments and equipment you built up to beat the dragon. Potions are also underutilized, leaving room for expansion.
I propose expanding Alchemy so that Thick Potions mirror Awkward Potion. This means that all current potions have a "Thick" alternative that are brewed exactly the same as current potions except that the base is a Thick Potion instead of an Awkward Potion.
The Thick Potion can be applied to arrows in any Crafting Table/Interface. Doing this will give you a max of 7 Tipped Arrows. Alternatively, you could pour a Thick Potion into a Cauldron and manually tip the arrows for 16 Arrows per 1/3 of the Cauldron Potion).
Lastly, it should be possible to dip other equipment in a Cauldron filled with a Thick Potions. For instance, dipping a sword in a Thick Potion of Healing for fighting Undead. Or dipping a Bow in a Thick Potion of Leaping to increase the range. On weapons, the effects would last a certain number of hits or uses, the longer the duration of the Thick Potion the more uses it has. On worn armor, potion is similar to the current Hunger System. The duration fades slowly with time, unless the effect gets used which causes severe time penalties for the dipped armor.
I would also like to throw in that Thick Potions should be made with Honey, instead of Glowstone.
