Basalt texture

The recently added basalt block doesn't look too appealing. I feel like it should look more like the modded version, darker. Also stairs, slabs and maybe some variants like tiles could be added. Look at chisel for inspiration. I need that in my life :D If this goes through, you might want to make it easier to gather it for building, so that you don't fall in lava every time you go out mining it ;)

    I think it should function similarly to the granite-andesite-diorite trilogy, but I do really like the flowing texture it has at default, so maybe it should stay like that.

    I have no problems with the texture itself I'd just like to be able to make basalt bricks...

    I love the texture's duality. The side flows well and the top looks sorta' like cobblestone. Makes for nice dark building, but as mentioned below I'd LOVE to see smooth/rough variants as well as bricks with respective stairs, slabs, and wall. It's a nice antithesis to quartz, and the closest we've ever had to it is Nether brick which is already insufficient with its mild red hue.
