Now that Netherite armors are a thing, I think this is the perfect time to balance all of the armors.
My suggestions:
- Remove toughness. It only makes the game more complicated. If you want to make a strong armor, just modify the armor values. Most people don't even know how toughness works anyways.
- Modify the damage reduction each full set of armors provide.
A full set of Leather should grant you 40% DR Buffed
A full set of Chainmail/Golden armor should grant you 50% DR Buffed
A full set of Iron should grant you 60% DR (Turtle Shell included) Unchanged
A full set of DIamond should grant you 70% DR Nerfed
A full set of Netherite should grant you 80% DR Almost Unchanged
This should make the transition between armors feel more balanced. And It will make the Leather/Chainmail/Golden armors actually viable.
