Fortresses on Nether Ceilings

The nether is analogous to a huge cave system where verticality contributes to its scale and challenge. With that in mind, Nether Fortresses simply being built on the bottom is... boring. Thus, I propose a variant of Nether Fortresses that has its pillars be attached to the ceiling of the Nether instead of its floors. The outside bridges might need some light adjustments so that they look cool, but the internal design of the fortresses would remain consistent. This would not only add to the theme of the Nether being alien-esque in addition to being a rendition of Hell, but it would also encourage exploration of the upper levels of the nether. Currently, both Fortresses and Ancient Debris encourage staying low while in the Nether, while the upper levels are reserved for transportation and safer travels. With this addition, players would be encouraged to go up.

    Great idea, the support beams would look really cool, not to mention that seeing something so huge so high up would inspire a sense of awe in players.
