Since the introduction of the trident and his respective enchantments, it's clear that the Channeling it's very situational and the most unusual of them.
A beside effect could help the Channeling enchantment be more useful and more fun in general:
• The wet effect can be appied on any mob,animal or player (few exceptions: blaze, magma cube, enderman)
• When one of the listed entities is under the wet effect, the Channeling enchantment works on that entity even if rain/thunderstorm are off;
• Several things inflict the wet effect, such as rain, thunderstorm, contact with water (source/stream) and splash water bottles;
• Splash water bottles inflict wet for 5 seconds on the listed entities. Drinking water bottle doesn't inflict the wet effect;
• Splash water bottles can cancel blaze attacks if thown when the mob is burning (charging to attack), however it does not inflict wet (the sound effect played is similar to extinguishing fire);
