Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Steel Crossbow

Functionality

The Steel Crossbow works the same way as a normal Crossbow; The Steel Crossbow can be loaded without being fired. Unlike the Crossbow, the Steel Crossbow does not use arrows, but instead "Crossbow Bolts". The Steel Crossbow takes longer to charge than a normal Crossbow, and fires projectiles faster than a normal Crossbow. The Steel Crossbow can be repaired with Iron Ingots.

Crossbow Bolts
There are two types of Crossbow Bolts. Iron Crossbow Bolts and Gold Crossbow Bolts. Both types of Crossbow Bolts have a chance of breaking after hitting something. Iron Crossbow Bolts have a lower chance of breaking than Gold Crossbow Bolts. Iron Crossbow Bolts function as the "Arrows" of the Steel Crossbow. Gold Crossbow Bolts have the unique property of being able to be customized.


Crafting
The Steel Crossbow would be crafted similarly to a normal Crossbow, but with Iron Ingots replacing Sticks in the Crossbow recipe, and Gold Ingots replacing the Iron Ingots in the Crossbow recipe. Crossbow Bolts are crafted by placing three of their respective Ingots in a vertical line in a crafting table, granting three Crossbow Bolts.

Steel Crossbow Enchantments
The Steel Crossbow would have access to Piercing, Multishot, Fast Charge, Infinity, and Mending.

Due to character restrictions I am unable to explain Gold Crossbow Customization other than that they can be crafted with items to gain unique effects, some enchantment like, some potion like.

    Two potential ways of crafting gold arrows are a) similarly to firework stars, base materials and "add-ons" being placed in a crafting grid, or b) utilizing the Fletching Table with a unique GUI

    Good idea, but I think this needs more uses if it's going to be added to the game. In my opinion, it's too similar too a regular crossbow.

    I agree with this idea, But I think that crossbow bolts should also do more damage.

    I really like the idea of the bolts themselfes, they would give a great use to the fletching table and could fix the issue with scoped crossbow that i would have, with the normal arrows not traveling far enough. Bit since i would really desire a scoped crossbow i think this would be exactly the right idea. I think the bolts should behave like normal arrows but do more damage and travel further and with wayy less drop but overall i think the damage should never overtake a Power V bow. In Addition to that i think the bolts should be rather expensive to balance things like maybe a cristal as tip one iron ingot in the middle and a feather for one bolt. An then use the fletching table for different upgrade ideas to achieve the better characteristics like straighter flight and more damage.

    To further differentiate the steel crossbow from the normal one, I suggest special bolts:

    Blaze Bolt- (Blaze rod+fire charge) an explosive projectile (same size of TNT)

    Breeze Bolt- (wind charge + feather + breeze rod?) 6 hearts on direct hit, way higher knock back, but if you miss, the bolt can be picked up again (chance to disappear). (Could work w/loyalty)

    Copper bolts- (Lightning rod+feather+ copper ingot) Activates redstone when hitting redstone-related blocks. When in thunderstorm, copper bolts can summon lightning.
