I was thinking of another system capable of replacing the cooldown: instead of all that why not put a "tired bar" basically if a player taps too quickly there is a full bar that appears, the more it attacks the more the bar empty and once the bar is completely empty the player can not attack for a while. (as if he were tired)
I think that like that there would really be strategy, there would be a time to respect but it would be the time between each shot if we want the bar not to empty but we could tap faster if necessary.
