But without the elder guardian jumpscare, the ocean monument wouldn't feel the same

I support with your opinion with the kids and such but I would have to disagree. Yes more and more kids are coming to minecraft, yes they are probably gonna see that jumpscare, yes they are probably going to get nightmares from it as well (like I did when I was a kid).

But what I am really trying to say is that the jumpscare should stay. Not only does it add a scary feeling to the ocean monument, it also give a sense of adventure and makes the 3rd boss of minecraft alot more creepier. We should also focus on the older community of minecraft. Think about how many old people would get angry if you remove this (every action has an opposite and equal reaction, removing the jumpscare is the action, and the angry people are the reaction). Not only would minecraft be neglecting some of there older players, they would also make the mysterious feel of the ocean monument disappear if they do this. That is my opinion.

I agree that it should be removed. Well at the very least I would love it if there were an option in the menu to take it out or something rather than just not having it just in case there are veteran players that still like it for whatever reason they may. But it scares me a whole lot. I've seen people say "well just don't go near it" and to that I say it would be easy to do if it weren't for places under the water like caves or places on top of the water like ice biomes. As silly as it sounds, I can't look at any large body of water in Minecraft any more without getting anxious. So that's my wish. A toggle in the options menu or something. That way the die hard veterans that care about it still can have it in, and people like me who can't stand jumpscares in games where I don't expect any (Sonic adventure 2 was a childhood favorite of mine but maaaaaan)

I really want to experience an ocean monument in its fullest however I can't when unpredictably Elder Guardians hover down on the player just underwhelmed me pretty quickly. I know people say don't go near them but how will I 100% the game if there is no way to avoid it? I feel a quick menu setting can easily change that similar to how there is an option to disable cave sounds for crying out loud. Please Mojang Studios give us some sort of option to work with, I'm oo nervous to play Minecraft now
