Deadly Magical Flowers
These would be plants with an idea similar to the wither rose, but with a smaller range and less powerful effects. Think of them as something like the fire in the nether, with a different natural beauty. Stepping onto a block occupied by one of these flowers would give players a status effect as long as they stay on that block and for a short period of time after they leave. There would be stereotypical negative potion effects, like poison, harming, and slowness; but there is also the option of using effects normally considered positive, like speed (I will leave this part of the suggestion up for debate. These effects could still be used positively by players, if they collect these flowers. Having them collectible only through silk touch may balance this, but again, I will leave this to debate). An example of a positive status effect leading to a negative outcome would be giving a player speed, only to have them run through deadly flowers or off of a cliff. Levitation is another one, though I think it should be replaced by extreme jumping if implemented in these flowers. Mobs would either naturally avoid these flowers when pathfinding or be immune to them, so the probability of one being affected by them would be low. They would add to the fun realm of deadly decoration, being beautiful with the possibility of killing players.
