/sudo

This command you can make anyone or everyone say something. For example: /sudo @a Hi. Everyone in the Server would say "Hi except the person saying it. This is used on Java with Plugins, but it would be a really cool command especially for YouTubers.

    sudo is used in UNIX to execute commands as a superuser (sudo = superuser do). I don't see why it would behave the way you describe it.

    sudo, if anything, should execute the command as an op (server operator, as that would be the equivalent of a superuser). But it would be redundant, since you already are an op, if you're able to use that command.

     

    While I can see the point of having a command the way you describe it, sudo is not the right name

    You can already do this using the /execute as command:

    /execute as @a[name=!YOURNAME] run say Hi

    You can use execute. /execute as @e run say hello

    I may be wrong but I am pretty sure there are server plugins that do exactly this with the /sudo command. I don't know why the name "sudo" was chosen in the first place but I think that's why OP said that.

    1. Hori873 is correct, if you wanted a pseudonym then use something like /pseudo

    2. the point of making the name in /say different to just typing in chat is to prevent stuff like this

    3. this can still be done with careful usage of /tellraw, as so

    /execute as PlayerYouWantToImpersonate run tellraw @a ["",{"text":"<"},{"selector":"@s","hoverEvent":{"action":"show_entity","value":"@s"}},{"text":"> Your Message"}]

    (you can even pseudo as entities as well)

    I know, it's been a long time, but I want to say, that sudo in Unix doesn't mean "Superuser Do" it means "Switch User Do" and the default user to switch to is root. Therefore, the name makes perfect sense, it switches user and executes commands.
