While fighting the Wither, skulls are being lobbed in every direction and in some cases, are difficult to dodge. In all the madness, terrain and builds are blown to smithereens. But why not a withering affect for blocks as well? This withering affect would spread to other chunks, and in moments your whole base could be covered in black and grey. When a wither skull hits a surface, any block within the explosion radius will turn black or in other words, wither. Depending on the block, there could be several variants. For instance, dirt = wither dirt, and wood = wither wood. I'm not saying every block in Minecraft needs to have withered variant, like mycelium wouldn't be withered mycelium, it would be withered dirt. Touching these blocks would deal damage as well as give off the wither affect. These blocks can also be used in crafting recipes, like wither wood can be crafted in wither wood planks. Now there also is blocks that don't follow up with the wither affect. Examples, wool, ore blocks, bedrock, glass, signs, etc. If your fighting the wither, steer clear of important builds or you may find them destroyed and, well, withered!
