Transfer pet ownership

Transfer pet ownership by attaching a lead to your pet, then using it on another active player. This will give them the lead and that pet as their own.

    I personally think that a variety of dyes can be used as passwords to make special feeds that affect the pet's preference for the owner.
    When others feed "special feed", ownership can be transferred more than a certain number of times
     
    And the practice is different according to the cat
    Dog bone meal + any number of dyes
    Cat's cooked fish + any variety of dyes

    Or if you are trying to protect a village but don’t have the iron to make a golem, you could tame dogs for them and give them to the villagers to protect themselves.🤷🏼‍♀️

    I personally think that it could be a free command like the /me command is and you could do /transfer [pet type:dog, cat, parrot, etc.] [your pet’s name] [player username] And then the player who is being given the pet would get a request of sorts and it would ask them if they would like the ownership of the pet accept or decline So that they would get a choice instead of playing hot potato with a dog on a lead if the player doesn’t want it. Though I don’t know what should happen if the pet is not named. Ex: /transfer dog bubbles treem Though you could make it make more sense like adding /transfer dog = bubbles > treem . Thanks!

    That's a really good idea! My sis and I always open shops in our worlds, and this could finally enable us to make pet shops!

    I like this mechanic a lot. It should require both players to participate so this can't be used to steal a dog army from another player.

    I'd love to be able to transfer pet ownership to a different player.
    Or at the very least have it so that if two pets are being bred, that the new baby will belong to the person that bred the two animals, or I suppose 50/50 if the parents were fed by a different player each.
    How many times have I seen the scenario in which a person believed this was already true, or tried to breed their pet with another person's pet, but then the baby belonged to the other person instead of them.

    The method OP describes is already nice, but perhaps a bit fiddly to figure out naturally,
    having a simple universal command akin to /me, as described by another person here, would be the simplest to implement I think.
