statue of generation: how to set your spawn in the nether

the statue of generation would be an unbreakable block found in the center of bastions. This block would be a golden pig with emerald eyes sitting on its bum while holding a golden hopper. to set your spawn you will have to throw gold at the block until a green sparkle (bonemeal on sapling effect) happens.

    Honestly, this just sounds like an unnecessarily complicated version of the unused Crying Obsidian block to me.

    (For those who haven't heard of it, Crying Obsidian is an unimplemented item in older versions of Minecraft that was intended to let you set your spawn point. However, it was replaced by beds, which did the same thing and let you skip the night as well. You can find more on the following Minecraft Wiki page: https://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Java_Edition_removed_features#Crying_obsidian)

    Furthermore, although I like your idea of having some kind of totem or block to help a player respawn in the Nether, I have heard that Mojang may allow you to sleep in the Nether in the new update. If this is true, then having some kind of fancy totem to set your spawn wouldn't be practical.
