Hey there Mojang!
I was working on making a secret nether portal entrance for my base today. It's a nether portal that turns off and reveals a door behind it. However I've discovered that there are only two ways to break a nether portal. With TNT, or with a dispenser placed facing into the portal block with a water bucket in it. I'm unable to use TNT, as explosions are disabled on the server I'm playing on, and a dispenser placed right next to it would defeat the purpose of it being a secret entrance.
Back in 1.0 nether portals were changed so that they couldn't be broken by flowing liquid anymore. Which I think may have been a bug. There aren't any benefits of having portals not being broken by flowing liquid.
There's also another creative way to break a nether portal that should be added. Currently, nether portal blocks can't be pushed. But it should work that if you push a nether portal block, the nether portal breaks.
This is a very small tweak, but I feel that it's crucial to add. Without it, players are limited to how they can activate and deactivate their nether portals in creative ways.
