Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Ambient Sound Block

Similar to how the new light source blocks work, it would be kind of neat to have a block that can produce an ambient sound that can be heard for say 30 blocks. Sounds could include things like Birds, Waterfalls, Creaky Wood

This would help map makers make more immersive maps

    You can do this with command blocks. With that said, it would be cool if there was a survival based block that includes this functionality. This would greatly improve players' builds by adding an extra way to represent the feel of a particular build.
