When you are making your redstone suggestions, please note that Java and Bedrock will not have the exact same the same redstone systems - this would require redoing redstone system completely on one platform or the other. The two systems are functionally different and are going to stay that way. Please be sure to tag your suggestions with (Java) or (Bedrock).

mercury liquid or liquid redstone, as redstone conductor.

Mercury could be found in nether caves or randomly in small ponds, in low elevations. Or in the overworld in diamond level, due to obvious high density, could work as liquid redstone conductor. Other uses could be given to it in develop. would not react with water and would just go sink in the bottom. In case of facing lava it would "boil" and if mobs nearby would be have mercury debuffs, comming in contact with it, wouldn't be like water or lava, you could almost walk on it and sink a bit. But would give slowness debuff, prologued exposure weakness and long enough, like swimming and making scuba diving, poisioning, nausea, etc. 

Or mix redstone and water to make a kind of red coloured liquid that conducts redstone impulses.

I suggest, that mercury could be very interesting as it has potential for other kind of uses. i would ask community for a brainstorm on other practical aplications (potions, construction, etc)

    Interesting concept... a liquid that can conduct redstone signals... I like it. We do need more liquids in Minecraft.

    Mercury is actually denser than lead!  The Minecraft version of this would be that even falling anvils would float in a pool of Mercury.  The only thing that would sink would be the Dragon Egg.  Over time Mercury would "evaporate," by which I mean it would emit little green particles that would have a small chance of dealing damage to the player and have a smaller chance of giving them poison or hunger.  Lava would make the Mercury evaporate faster.
