I don't really use the character creator I just use one of the skins I own. I used to be able to use them offline but then they added the character creator and now I can't use any skins.

Yep. I agree with that. I don't know why when you go offline you can't use any of The Stuff you bought.  It just Doesn't make sense

Being stuck with default skins while offline makes no sense what so ever.  I play on the ps4 and 99% of the time don't have access to an internet connection.  This was no problem before the update, I had the one skin and texture pack I liked and just used them.  Now with this bedrock update they're constantly cramming "PLAY ONLINE" down your throat to shill content packs and tokens.  Now if I don't log into a MICROSOFT account on a SONY product, I can't access content I PAID for that is ON the console.  What's worse, if I go back to the old editions all my stuff is there, like it should, but have to play without updated content or quality of life features.  This is absolutely asinine.

This part of Bedrock absolutely sucks. It really annoys me that I can't use skins other than Steve or Alex offline. I'd suggest that that you can have all of your non-custom skins available while Offline, as well as being able to save at least 1 custom skin.

I agree with the other posters on this thread. Before the update we had no problem accessing our purchased content (skins/resource packs) offline. Now we no longer have access to content we paid for unless we have an internet connection. The worst part about it is that all of the content is already saved locally on the device. That makes it seem like it was most definitely a conscious decision in the update to bar access to said content without an internet connection. As a Switch player, I now almost always have to play as Steve. Thanks Microsoft.

I agree. I don't have a constant Internet connection on my Switch, so being able to use my character offline would be a godsend.

Imagine paying for something but you can't use it offline for no reason

Minecraft should add the option to add the ability to download offline copies on your skin packs.

I’m extremely disappointed in Mojang for not having seen this as an issue before NOR after the release of minecraft on the switch. it seems so fundamental when you port a game to a portable console to check for things that should be compatible on both online and offline mode...

I agree with this post. I play Minecraft on PS4 and I encounter this problem all the time. I mostly play offline (slow wifi problems) and thats why I have lots of games with local multiplayer & couch coop in them. Its kinda lame because you've created a custom character and it takes long to load all the hair, pants, footwear etc. and when you log off to the game you lose them all including capes and emotes. We are stuck with Steve and Alex all over again. Just please add access to skins offline and the character creator with all of the customizations included.

I was just gonna say the same thing! I 100% agree.
As a player on Nintendo Switch, I want to be able to access my skins while offline. Thank you for suggesting this idea! This needs more votes.

I agree but for a slightly different reason. when I am playing on my pc sometimes i get kicked from my wifi (not a minecraft issue) but then when I re-join my wifi and load minecraft ALL of my custom minecraft skins have been deleted! I mean come on! so if minecraft were to save a local copy of my skins I wouldn't have this problem. Also a way to export your skins would be cool.

I do not appreciate content I purchased being locked behind an internet connection. Should your service experience any significant downtime, or get permanently shutdown/bought out, or ISP monopolies make it impossible to secure a connection for a reasonable price and region support, or my geographical region becomes politically unstable.. I'll remember the sting of being locked out of goods I own to never condone the purchase of virtual online items be it games or in-game trinkets. I will promote a new stigma regarding these practices should your company never consider the alternative in making purchased skins available offline.

I agree in the legacy edition of minecraft you can play whith your skin even offline and why mojang does not want to put this option in the versions java or bedrock I hope that mojang includes this in the 1.17 update of bedrock and java

I agree not being able to use the skins that you have bought online offline is kind of dumb even though I have purchased a mash-up pack of skins that I like at a friend's house and when I take my system back to my house not being able to use them but being able to use the actual texture pack is kind of stupid

What can I do to get someone from Minecraft to see this and respond?  I paid money and bought skins online and paid for items in the character creator.  I have a licensed copy of both Java and Bedrock Minecraft plus I bought the Pocket Edition for my phone and tablet.  I have certainly paid for Minecraft many times over in many ways.

I don't always have an internet connection.  I should be able to play offline WITH THE ITEMS I PAID FOR!!!!!!!  PAID FOR!!!!

I've seen certain self-righteous posters on other sites claiming that it's because of those dirty, awful, immoral game pirates, but that's a bunch of bull. Other games allow you to keep custom avatars offline such as Terraria. I am a paying customer, not a pirate.  I have limited internet because I live in a rural area. It is really annoying to lose all the custom content I paid for just because I don't have an internet connections!!

I use to be able to create my own character and use skins I had but a recent update made unusable offline. With my switch im offline often so this is a very big problem for me and my cousins.

I think that will be a good change. I'm tired playing as generic steve and Alex skins
I want to use the skins I bought or created on bedrock. Why we cant use those.

I like my skins that I save to my gallery but they can only be viewed or opened or even seen by other players when I'm online. That is why I'm suggesting that the characters saved online can also be used offline

I agree that an update like this would be great. It can be very annoying when a default skin comes up in place of your regular skin. I play Java edition. I would love to see this feature on java too. Storing the default skin in the world or the Minecraft files would be great. This would mean the game would prioritize certain skins over others, like having hierarchy of sorts. Load a custom skin onto the first slot, and the game would search that slot and apply the skin there. If it is not there, then it would move onto a custom skin. I admit with the huge program that is Minecraft, it may take some time, but I bet the Minecraft community would appreciate the effort. After all, Minecraft is its community.

I really don't get why so few people were bothered about this. I should be able to use skins offline anyway! They're already saved on the device, I just can't access them without "logging in". >:(

This new update is terrible. It's not just the skins but everything else too. I have brought mashed up worlds, 19 different skin packs, and different textures and I can't used any of them when offline.

It's been like this since Ver.1.17.30. Some people buy Minecraft for the skins... but it hasn't been fixed for 3.5 years...

I think we should be able to download what skins we want to use and have purchased or created for offline use. On PS4, when you start up Minecraft, it assigns a random skin, not even saving a previous skin. I don't like most of the default skins, and to get one I'm comfortable playing as, I have to restart the game over and over until I come across one of the 2 skins I will use.

It also happens in the modern version.
