Conduits are expensive, non-renewable, and their use is largely overshadowed by renewable items (i.e. potions and enchantments) which confer the same effects. For this reason, they aren’t very practical as an endgame item. However, giving conduits the unique ability of allowing water placement in the nether would change this entirely. Builds, mob farms, redstone mechanisms, interdiminsional infrastructure, etc. have been forever limited by the inability to place water in the nether. Unfarmable, conduits would offer a lore-friendly, balanced, and practical solution to this problem. It is the perfect endgame item to advance the opportunities available to dedicated players, while also encouraging otherwise farm-based players to explore, in search of buried treasure. It would also fit nicely with the Nether update.
