Let’s be honest, nobody actually uses sunflowers for anything. They are useless and take up space in the Minecraft world. They are annoying and tall, which causes them to get in front of your cursor a lot of the time and waste more of your precious inventory space. I propose that we add sunflower seed in Minecraft. Not only that, but we make it edible. If the player harvests the sunflower and turn it into seeds THEN eat it immediately, the player will recover 1/2 of a hunger bar. But if the player takes the extra time to cook it in a furnace/smoker, then it will recover 1 1/2 hunger bars. It will be similar to bamboo in terms of how it grows after placed. The player is able to plant the seed on any block of dirt, without needed to hoe the dirt first. The placed seed with show as a seed looking block, with a little sprout growing out of it. It will gradually grow into the sunflower and be ready for harvest. To harvest it, you simply break the sunflower when it’s fully grown. Breaking the sunflower before it’s fully grown will result in it not dropping and disappearing. To obtain the seeds, you simply put the sunflower into your inventory’s crafting menu or into a crafting table in a single square with no other ingredients. Thoughts?
