Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Cobblestone Shards

When using a stonecutter, there should be a slight chance, say, 1 in 100 chance, that it drops cobblestone shards. 9 cobblestone shards can be used to craft cobblestone. That's all.

    What if they could also be arranged to get different resources, like sand? e.g. 8 shards + water bucket gives you a sand block and an empty bucket, while a 5 shards "chessboard" pattern could give you gravel.

    this could even be used to make fragile slabs that break when you walk or jump on it!

    Two suggestions: add bark which can be applied to stripped logs to make them logs again, and Spears!
