The Nether Serpent

Imagine, your walking in the Nether near an ocean of lava. Then you see something huge jump from the lava. This mob is what I call a Nether Serpent. A Nether Serpents can be found in the lava oceans of the Nether. They are HUGE mobs, about 10 1/2 blocks to 26 blocks long. Nether Serpents are also very, very, powerful, it will not attack on first sight unless disturbed. If you be active around a Nether Serpent like running, breaking, building, jumping rapidly, or attacking it will cause the Nether Serpent to attack you. The Nether Serpent can jump out of the lava like a Dolphin. If killed the Nether Serpent will drop Scales. Scales would be used for crafting lots of cool stuff. An example would be Dragon Armor, Dragon Armor is a type of armor that is stronger than diamond armor but it is heavy so it will reduces your speed slightly. Finally the Nether Serpent would be red, have green eyes, have a long snout, have horns on top of its head, and would have a long tail. I think the Nether Serpent will be a good addition because it give the Nether a new challenge and a whole new part of Minecraft.

    The nether is too easy. This is a great Idea and similar to Tango Teks Kraken Mod.

    The scales it drops should not burn in lava, to make sure it’s not unfair for the player (;

    Also he new nether wart forest has a new type of tree like thing right? You could make lava resistant boats to help fight the serpant

    Damn, I felt sure I was going to be the first with this one.

    Had an epiphany while working in the nether yesterday. Wouldn't it be great to have an enormous serpent that lives in the lava seas of the nether. I giant snake like creature that surfaces like the Loch Ness Monster and attacks unwary people too close to, sailing on (hopefully in the near future), or (god forbid) swimming in the lava.

    They would be very rare and require a lava lake of sufficient size. 

    It would be kind of like an end-boss for the nether, very difficult to defeat. Maybe with the new nether update it would drop a bunch of ancient debri blocks. It certainly would fit with the difficulty in obtaining ancient debri.

    I kinda had the same idea but mabye adding a lava boat and making out of warped planks AND iron and Maybye it could like run on coal or something.......anyway I hope you like my ideas!

    Perhaps not on lava, but instead it can be a giant cave where the serpent moves around, but if it would be on lava, perhaps a enchantment similar to frost walking, but it’s for lava instead just to make it a bit easier to fight it.

    I made a post like this too. I suggested they could bite the player and drag them into the lava and that they could spray lava at you from a short distance.

    The Nether is still pretty hard, and interesting. These would be good for a boss, or challenge biome, but are too much for now.

    Though,  I would like to see a similar, smaller monster, called the Searing Serpent.

    The Searing Serpent could spawn in pcks of 2 to 4, about 1 pack per 900 (30 by 30) block area , and make a loud crackling noise. These guys swim fast in the lava, and set the player on fire with their attack. They attack by jumping up th o 2 blocks high from the lava, and set the player on fire on contact. They do not harm Striders.

    The goal of this mob is a terrifying surprise for players who are crossing lava lakes by Strider, or walking around near them.

    I think it's a great idea, but the size is to big. I would say make them small and and go on land to fight you but retreat to the lava when it's badly damaged, so you have a chance to get the possible drops

    Yeah like Nether serpent lives in nether wastes and near lava lakes! And droped blaze powder or more unique like Flairy scales that uses Armor to swim lava faster or Ambient orb that uses to craft fire staff! And eventually not really that tough but makes you challenge in its speed and its unique strong attack.

    ok the nether is a giant monster, there's a stomach rumble, a heart beat and you can find BONES in what i think is just a digested ancient being (of which is unknown) and this is my theory about how the nether is one living organism
