Exp when I craft something new

So you are in late game. You have diamond tools and everything but you have never for example crafted a wooden shovel or a cake. I have never in my Minecraft world crafted a cake so why would I? This new mechanic would be really cool since alot of stuff you never craft so why not get some exp?
